Following in the footsteps of his father Sid Forman, Mark embarked on a career in jewellery design and manufacture at an early age. He was the youngest ever winner of the De Beers Diamonds Today Award at the age of 18, during his first year of apprenticeship after which he continued to received many subsequent national and international awards as well as the coveted De Beers Diamond International Award in 1992.
Mark has worked as a jeweller, inventor, craftsman and artist for over 25 years and is known for his artistic and stylistically avant-garde approach to design.
His style is simulatenously contemporary and timeless and his oeuvre sees the marriage of art and science, with technical acumen defined clearly alongside aesthetic value.
Mark has also designed industrial machinery for jewellery manufacture as well as gas turbines used in the aero space industry. His works include sculpture, painting, drawing, landscaping, bonsai and hand built models. |
